How Our Network Works

Who You Talk To

After you send a request, you speak with an independent provider in our network. That provider is a local business, not Throwsides Windows & Siding. Throwsides Windows & Siding makes the introduction. The provider answers your questions, looks at your project and writes the estimate.

What Happens on the First Conversation

Expect questions about your home. A provider may ask how many windows you need replaced, what type of walls you have, and whether you live in a condo or a house. Photos help a lot. Take them from the ground, not from a ladder.

The provider may then offer a visit to measure and inspect. Only the provider should open frames or test walls.

Questions Worth Asking

Write these down before you talk:

  • Are you licensed and insured? Can I see it in writing?
  • What brands and glass types do you use for energy efficient windows?
  • How do you seal against wind-driven rain and humidity?
  • Will you handle permits and any condo or association rules?
  • Who removes and hauls away the old materials?
  • What is the full price in writing, and what could change it?
  • How long will the work take, and what happens if weather delays it?

What You Can Safely Do, and What to Leave Alone

Do clear space around the windows. Do move furniture and take down blinds. Do take photos and measure nothing you cannot reach from the floor.

Do not remove old frames yourself. Do not climb a ladder to reach upper windows. Do not cut into siding or trim. These steps need proper equipment and training.

You Stay in Control

You can ask for more than one estimate. Compare scope, materials, warranty terms from the manufacturer or provider, and payment schedule. Be careful with any provider who pushes you to sign quickly. A fair provider will let you think it over.

You can say no at any point. There is no obligation.
